The full name of the great Pir Abdul Quader Jilani (Rah.) Is Muhiuddin Abu Muhammad Ibn Abu Saleh Musa Jangi (Rah.). He was a Kamel Sufi preacher. The Kaderia sect has been named after him. He was born in 480 AH and died in 561 AH. In his ancestral lineage, he was a direct descendant of Imam Hasan, the grandson of the Prophet (peace be upon him). His mother was Fatima, the daughter of Abdullah al-Mawmayi. They were both the best saints of that era. In the village where he was born, his name is Nik or Nayak. It is located in the district of Gilan or Jilan, south of the Caspian Sea.

At the age of eighteen, he was sent to Baghdad to study. He studied Shafi’i jurisprudence in linguistics with Allama Tibriya (Rah.) And in the Hanbali sect with some Shaykhs or Ustads. Its 48 to 521 AH. As far as life is known, it is during this time that he performed Hajj and got married. Because one of his sons and daughters was born in 506 AH. According to some writers, he was also the caretaker of the tomb of Imam Azam Imam Abu Hanifa (ra) at that time. He learned Sufism from Abu Khair Muhammad ibn Muslim. In an interview, he stared at Abdul Quader Jilani (Rah.) And became a Sufi. He had to work hard to get education from Ustad Abul Khair (Rah.).

The intrusion of a jurist into the khanqah of Abul Khair (ra) is said to have angered other learned saints. Some time later, Abdul Quader Jilani (Rah.) Was considered worthy of gaining Sufi attire. There was a madrasa of Hanbali fiqh in Baghdad. The principal of that madrasa, Qazi Abu Saeed Makhzumi (Rah.) Taught him. 521 AH. In the year, on the advice of Sufi Yusuf Al Hamzani (Rah.), He started preaching openly.

At first his audience was small. As their numbers grew, he took his seat in the famous room at Baghdad’s Halba Gate. But as the audience continues to grow, he has to go out the door. Where a virat or khanqah is built for him. In the year 527 AH, Abdul Qadir Jilani (Rah.) Was appointed as its principal by including the surrounding buildings in Mubarakul Makhzumi Madrasa. The nature of his work was probably similar to that of Jamaluddin Az-Jawzi. He used to waz at his madrasa on Friday mornings and Monday evenings. He used to do khankaya on Sunday morning. Many of his numerous students later became known as saints. It is known that many Jews and Christians were converted to Islam by listening to his sermons. Many Muslims are blessed with a higher life. As a result of his fame spreading in many places, Nazar-Niaz used to come to him from many places. By this he met the needs of the candidates and always kept the door open. Questions about Islamic law were sent to him from all parts of the country. He would answer them immediately. This allowed the then caliphs to be among his followers.

He wrote many books. Among them are the famous (1) Al Guniyatut Talebeen, (2) Al Fathur Rabbani, (3) Fatuhul Ghayb, (4) Sirrul Asrar etc. May Allah Almighty grant him Ala Darajat from Allah of Qurab and Manjelat. Amen.
