The 400-year-old Kurikhai Mela has started in Katiadi of Kishoreganj from today (Monday). Hazrat Shah Shamsuddin Bukhari (Rah 🙂 This fair is organized every year centering on Mazar Sharif and Urs. The fair lasted for about a week starting from Monday with the participation of people from all walks of life from different parts of the country. One of the attractions of the fair is the fish market. There is also a seven-day trade in a variety of products, including wooden furniture.

Hazrat Shah Shamsuddin Bukhari (Rah 🙂 came with three traveling companions from Yemen to preach Islam in Kurikhai area of ​​Mumurdia union of Katiadi upazila of Kishoreganj district long ago. He was the first preacher of Islam in the region. After his death, devotees are rumored to have introduced Oras and Kurikhai fairs centered on the shrine.
To please the in-laws, the daughter-in-law bought a big fish and took it to the in-laws’ house. Various shops are set up on the occasion of the fair in an area of ​​one to one and a half kilometers in Kurikhai village. Colorful accessories including wooden furniture, children’s toys, daily necessities, girls’ cosmetics. It has food shops and restaurants of various tastes. Mudi, sweet, khai, jilapi, moya are some of the attractions of this fair.

The fair also has puppet dances, circuses, motorcycle races and other events for children. The fair lasts from morning till late night.
