News Desk: So far, six people have been found in Bangladesh with a new type of corona identified in Britain.
ASM Alamgir, chief scientific officer of the government’s Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR), confirmed the data on Wednesday (March 10th), saying so far seven corona strains from the UK have been found in Bangladesh. He also said that the vaccine is working well on the new strain.
He mentioned that Bangladesh is monitoring this strain. However, the UK variant has no effect in increasing the number of infections in Bangladesh.
The Genomic Laboratory Lab of the Council for Science and Industry Research (BCSIR) said on December 24 last year that a genome similar to the new type of corona identified in Britain was found in Bangladesh.
