News Desk: UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres has praised Bangladesh for addressing the health and socio-economic challenges posed by the epidemic. Foreign Minister. He said this in a virtual meeting with AK Abdul Momen. The Foreign Ministry said in a press release.
At the meeting, Guterres said Bangladesh has always been at the forefront of global leadership in mitigating any risks. So I was not at all surprised to see such success of Bangladesh in tackling the Corona epidemic.
The Rohingya issue was also discussed at the meeting. The foreign minister has sought UN humanitarian assistance for the Rohingya who have taken refuge in Bhasanchar.
Praising Bangladesh’s role in the Rohingya issue as well, the UN Secretary General said, “Our goal is the same, and that is to send the Rohingya back to Myanmar.”
