BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has alleged that the government’s “unbridled falsehood and arrogance” have handicapped all the opposition parties including BNP.
The BNP senior leader made the allegation on Sunday issuing a statement to voice the party’s concern over the jailing of its joint secretary general Habib-un-Nabi Khan Sohel.
In a statement, Fakhrul also alleged that the government is jailing BNP leaders and activists as part of its agenda to establish an individual’s rule in the country by destroying BNP, the most ‘popular’ party.
Earlier in the day, separate Dhaka courts sent Sohel to jail by rejecting his bail petitions in 41 cases after he surrendered before the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate court.
