news desk: The convoy of BNP’s foreign affairs committee member Ishraq Hossain was attacked by the miscreants on Barishal-Dhaka highway near Mahilara Bazar at Gournadi upazila in Barishal on Saturday morning.
Some leaders and activists of the party were injured in the attack.
Ishraq Hossain said they started journey from Dhaka to join their party’s divisional mass rally in Barishal. When their motorcade reached Mahilara Bazar, local Awami League, Juba League and Chhatra League men attacked on them and vandalized some cars.
Dhaka South’s 38 No. ward BNP unit general secretary Sahidul Haque Sahid, Mamun Bhuiyan, Md Rasel, Md Babul, Khokon, 40 No. ward BNP unit leader Imran, 42 No. ward BNP unit Juba Dal member secretary Masud Rana, Suhrawardy College Chhatra Dal leader Rocky, Al Amin and some others were injured in the attack, said the BNP leader.
