Inu rejects BNP’s allegations of abductions and killings

Information Minister Hasanul Huq Inu on Friday has rejected BNP’s claim that the government is retaining power through killing, abduction and detention of opposition parties.

Talking to reporters in Kushtia, the minister asked the BNP to give names of 78,000 detained, 1,000 killed and 500 abducted workers as claimed by party Secretary General Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.

Minister Inu blamed the BNP of doing politics of falsehood and urged the party to publish the lists of such activists in 72 hours or seek apology to the people for telling lies.

Inu was talking to journalists while inaugurating a new road at Khemirdiar under Bheramara upazila of Kushtia district.

He added that the government is not taking any revenge on BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia.

“The BNP chief will have to suffer for her misdeeds like stealing the money of orphans and burning people to death,” he added.

Referring to the trial of the war criminals and Bangabandhu’s killers, he said Khaleda Zia will not be spared too.

Leaders of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal and government officials were present on the occasion.
