Sports Desk: It has finally been confirmed that the remaining matches of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will be held in the United Arab Emirates. The decision was taken at the annual general meeting of the Indian Cricket Board on Saturday (May 29). Later, the vice-president of the board Rajiv Shukla also informed the news agency. This competition will be held in September-October. Each member has ruled in favor of the rest of the IPL in the UAE.
However, there was no discussion about the T20 World Cup on Saturday. The board said in a statement that the International Cricket Council (ICC) had been asked for extra time. This competition will be decided at the right time.
The IPL had to be canceled on May 4 after several players were diagnosed with coronavirus infection. Earlier, President Sourav Ganguly had said that India was unlikely to play the remaining 31 matches.
