Another 11 days back tour of Zimbabwe

Sports Desk: Tamim’s team was scheduled to visit Zimbabwe on June 18. 11 days back will now be June 29. Due to the postponement of the tour, the Test series has been reduced to one Test and three matches have been reduced. The Tigers were scheduled to play two Tests, three ODIs and two T20I matches in the previous schedule.

Akram Khan, chairman of the BCB’s cricket management division, said the Tests would be reduced to end the Dhaka Premier League. The 12-team Premier League will start on May 31 and end on June 26. Changes have also been made in the version of this league. T20 matches will be played instead of ODIs.

Regarding the series reorganization, Akram Khan said, “Right now our schedule is very busy. Club cricket will start after this series. For the time being I have reduced one Test from Zimbabwe and increased one T20. There are Australia and New Zealand series after returning from Zimbabwe. Apart from this, cricketers have to look into the matter of being in the biosecure bubble. Extra play is also not good. I will think about this after this series. ‘

Akram said the three-match T20 series against Australia has been extended to five matches. The Tigers’ home series against the Aussies was scheduled for September 6-14. Before that, three matches are scheduled to be played in the country against New Zealand from August 18 to September 4. Akram said efforts were being made to upgrade the series to five matches.
