News Desk: A large section of the population now relies on WhatsApp for security reasons and free communication. Through this, using the internet, one can talk like a mobile phone, in the same way, text messages can be sent effortlessly. There is no extra cost, communication is a lot of secrets.

Similarly, WhatsApp has started to be used in many countries of the world for safe delivery of customer information and small transactions. This service is available from anywhere in the world. Four banks in Bangladesh have also started providing this service. The four banks are Dhaka, The City, Islami and Basic Bank of Public Sector.

Customers do not have to pay extra for this service of the bank. And the whole banking service is being done through WhatsApp using technology.

In the first phase of banking services through WhatsApp, the customers of the bank are only able to know various information about their accounts. Customers have to re-register to avail this service. However, there is no need to go to the branch. The customer is able to complete his own registration. In the second stage, banks are able to make small transactions, especially service bills, mobile recharges, passport fees.

Apart from sending money to your own bank, DPS money is going to be deposited. In the third phase, banks are giving the facility to send money to other banks. Banks are introducing this service step by step mainly for the security of accounts and transactions.

It is learned that banks are launching new online and card based services with the passage of time. Now banks are leaning towards various services through WhatsApp. Dhaka Bank is the first in Bangladesh to bring this service for its customers. The customers of the bank are getting service through +8801318203382. The bank has come a long way in this service since its inception. Dhaka Bank customers are now able to know their account information through WhatsApp as well as send money to other banks. Besides, there are various benefits including depositing card money and passport fee.

Then the service was brought by the private sector The City Bank. The customers of the bank are getting various information services through the number +8801700710144. About 35,000 customers have registered for the service. More than one thousand subscribers are getting information services through WhatsApp every day.

Citibank Managing Director Masroor Arefinat said Citibank customers are getting credit card and retail banking customers are getting some services from anywhere through WhatsApp. This year we will expand the scope of WhatsApp banking services keeping in mind the needs and benefits of the customers. The list of newly added services includes mobile phone recharge, payment of bills for various services, transfer of money to other accounts of Citibank, facility to get loan account information. Later, money can be transferred to other banks through WhatsApp.

Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited (IBBL) has re-launched this service. The customers of the bank can avail the service from anywhere in the world through +8801313016259. Apart from various information services, credit card bills of Islami Bank are being paid.

Muhammad Munirul Maula, managing director of Islami Bank, said, “We are focusing on using digital platforms to expand our services. All platforms have been prepared for this.

Basic Bank has recently started offering services using WhatsApp. The customers of the bank can avail 24 hours banking service from anywhere in the world through the number +8801713257414.

Anisur Rahman, Managing Director, Basic Bank, said the service has been launched so that customers can get their account information at home.
