The Awami League is stronger now than ever: Obaidul Quader

News Desk:  On the birth centenary of Bangabandhu and the golden jubilee of independence, Bangladesh Awami League is much stronger, united and well-organized than ever before, said Obaidul Quader, General Secretary of the party and Minister for Road Transport and Bridges.

He made the remarks during a regular briefing at his official residence on Tuesday. At that time, Obaidul Quader urged everyone not to create any instability in the country and not to provoke Narendra Modi’s visit to Bangladesh.

Regarding Narendra Modi’s demand to cancel his invitation to Bangladesh, Obaidul Quader said India was the main ally in the liberation war of 1971. That is why the head of government of Bangladesh and India has been invited, not any individual.

The Awami League general secretary said Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Bangladesh had nothing to do with the West Bengal elections or any other issue. He was the guest of honor at the golden jubilee of Bangladesh’s independence and the birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu.

Obaidul Quader said that the BNP has started organizing to defeat the government. But if the elements of violence are added to create instability instead of peaceful movement in the country, any mischievous attempt will be dealt with under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina.

The bridge minister said the BNP started politicization in the first administration. But Sheikh Hasina has freed the government administration from politics. The administration has become very efficient and qualified by inserting merit. The administration is working successfully for the implementation of long term vision including Vision 2021, SDG, Vision 2041 and Delta Plan.

The Minister for Road Transport and Bridges said the government or the Awami League could not save the party workers in the killings of Biswajit, Nusrat, Abrar and Rifat Sharif of Barguna because they believed in an independent judiciary. He did not want to obstruct the judicial process in any way as he has respect for the law. Instead, the BNPE resorted to double standards around the law court.

Obaidul Quader further said that the government has intervened because the judiciary is independent and the BNP has won the case.

The Awami League general secretary said there was no alternative but to strengthen the preventive measures to prevent the number of deaths due to corona. He said many people were not wearing masks in public places, markets, stations, ferries and other areas. At least for yourself and your family, children, but I urge you to make sure you wear a mask.

Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader requested various social, cultural and voluntary organizations to launch an awareness campaign to make the use of masks compulsory.
