Sports Desk: National cricket team player Zakir Hossain is playing as an icon player of Sylhet City Corporation Warriors. He also has the responsibility of captaining the team. All in all, Zakir started his journey in the Evely Sylhet T20 Blast 2021 tournament with a little pressure.

Sisik Warriors won the toss and elected to bat. The foundation of the match was laid with the great start of the two openers. When the first wicket fell, captain Zakir Hossain formed a big partnership with opener Shahanur Rahman. He played a great innings of 56 runs at the cost of 52 balls. He also set the record for the first half century for the team. Opener Shahanur made 39 off 43 balls.

In the allotted 20 overs, Sisik Warriors scored 162 runs for the loss of 5 wickets. Opponent MKB Platoon bowler Ibadat took 3 wickets.

To chase the big target of 183 runs, MKB Platoon scored 106 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Sisik Warriors bowlers Irfan and Joynal Islam took 3 wickets each. Sisik Warriors, the favorite team of the tournament, won the first match by 54 runs.

Sisik Warriors will play their second match against Sylhet United on February 19 at 2.15 pm.

Incidentally, Evely Sylhet T20 Blast 2021 started with 5 franchises at Sylhet District Stadium from 15th February organized by Sylhet Cricketers Association. The final of the tournament will be on February 26 at 5:30 pm.
