Shakib top wicket-taker in all formats

Ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hassan on Sunday touched the milestone of becoming the highest wicket-taker for Bangladesh in all three formats of cricket.

Shakib is now the leading wicket-taker for Tigers in Test, Twenty20 and ODIs.

With the wicket of visiting Afghan batsman Shabir Noori during the first one-day international at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, Shakib equalled the record of spinner Abdur Razzak.

Razzak was previously the highest ODI wicket-taker for Bangladesh with 207 wickets.

Taking the wicket of another Afghan batsman Rahmat Shah at the 41st over of the innings, Shakib crossed Razzak’s record.

He overtook Razzak in just 158 ODIs.

Shakib’s career best bowling in the ODI is 5 for 47 against Zimbabwe. He has, so far, picked four wickets a total of six times.

With 65 wickets in 54 matches, Shakib is the leading wicket-taker for Tigers in T20 internationals. He also tops Test cricket with 147 wickets in 42 matches.

Shakib, who made his ODI debut in 2006, touched 100th ODI wicket milestone against Pakistan during the 2010 Asia Cup.

In next five years of the 2010 Asia Cup, Shakib reached another milestone when he became the second Bangladesh player after Razzak to bag 200 ODI wickets for Bangladesh.

Mashrafe Bin Mortaza is just falling behind Shakib and Razzak with 205 wickets in 159 ODIs
