World class security centering BD-England series: DMP Commissioner

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Asaduzzaman Miah has said that the security arrangements ahead of the cricket series between Bangladesh and England series is world class.

“World class security arrangements have been taken as per our capacity ahead of the ODI series,” the DMP commissioner Asaduzzaman said while talking to journalists after an inspection of the arrangements in and around the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Tuesday.

Several levels of security has also been arranged at the residential hotels where players of both teams have been staying to ward off any untoward incident.

Other than that, the players are being given VVIP road protection during their movements in the streets, Miah said.

Law enforcing agencies have been working round-the-clock to assure the security of the cricket teams, he said.

Asaduzzaman said the whole stadium has been brought under CCTV surveillance system and every visitor will be searched twice while entering the stadium.

No vehicle will be allowed to enter the stadium area except those carrying the Bangladesh Cricket Board sticker, he said.

Alongside, no visitor can enter the stadium with any type of bag, knife and or flammable substances, he added.

The commissioner said they did not get any types of threat over the series.
