News Desk: The traders themselves have increased the price of soybean oil without caring about the National Committee on Marketing and Distribution of Essential Products. Soybean oil has been increased by Tk 5 per liter.
However, the Commerce Ministry said that the national committee would re-determine the price of soybean oil every month in line with the international market.
On April 19, the Bangladesh Vegetable Oil Refiners and Vegetable Manufacturers Association, an association of companies producing and marketing edible oil in the country, wrote to the Bangladesh Trade and Tariff Commission informing them of the new price.
According to the new price, open soybean will be sold at Tk 122 per liter, one-liter bottled soybean at Tk 144 and five-liter bottle at Tk 685. Besides, palm super oil will be sold at Tk 113. Meanwhile, retailers in the capital’s markets have started selling edible oil at higher prices.
