Faf du Plessis bids farewell to Test cricket

Sports desk: Former South African captain and reliable batsman Faf du Plessis has announced his retirement from Test cricket. He said the decision was made to focus more on limited overs cricket.

Du Plessis wrote on his Instagram, “I am clear to my mind. This is the best time to start something new. ” “If someone had told me 15 years ago that I would play 69 Tests for the country, it would have been unbelievable,” he wrote.

South Africa recently lost a two-Test series against Pakistan. After that, the former captain decided to retire. Du Plessis did not have much rhythm with the bat in the last two Tests. He has retired from Test cricket to play in the T20 World Cup.

Du Plessis has played 79 Tests for South Africa, scoring 4173 runs. He has 10 hundreds and 21 fifties in this format.
