Abdur Razzak became emotional while announcing his farewell decision. Drops of water in his eyes, he somehow held it. Standing on the stage, he finished his speech in a very short time. Razzak was seen wiping away tears after the speech.
“It’s a little difficult for me to say too much today,” he concluded. Because it’s a big decision for me. Thanks everyone. Everyone will pray for me. ‘
The satisfaction of being able to announce his retirement through an official announcement is in his voice. Because many former cricketers of the country could not retire from the field. Therefore, Razzak has expressed his satisfaction to be able to retire with the announcement.
“There were a lot of Test cricketers in our country,” he said. Many did not get this (formal retirement) opportunity. We hope that such a trend will be created gradually so that we can leave the field. That is doing so much for the country. Playing in the national team is a matter of huge sacrifice. It is a matter of sacrifice for you (journalists) too. Because as long as we play, you stay on the field. ‘
Razzak added, ‘There is no end to good. Good to be out of the field (goodbye). Such an opportunity would not have come before. Suddenly a player would say, don’t play anymore. Nobody knew he would never play again. Now at least people know. From then on, we hope to leave the field. ‘
“I’m not disappointed,” said Razzak, who has been playing cricket for nearly two decades in left-arm spin. I have no regrets about my whole career. I was happy with the way it started, more than happy with the way it went in the middle, and I am happy with the way it ended. ‘
Abdur Razzak, the country’s first 200-wicket haul in ODIs, has played 13 Tests (26 wickets), 153 ODIs (208 wickets) and 34 T20I (44 wickets) matches.
Besides, they have the reputation of taking 500 wickets as the first bowler in first class cricket in Bangladesh and 400 wickets as the first bowler in List A cricket. He is also the first Bangladeshi bowler to take 1,000 wickets in recognized cricket.
