The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Thursday announced the ticket ballot opening for the ICC Champions Trophy 2017.
World cricket fans can take the opportunity to apply for the tickets from Thursday to watch one of the 15 games. The eight-nation world cricket event is scheduled to be staged in England and Wales from 1-18 June.
Bangladesh qualified for the event for the first time placing 7th in the ICC ODI Team Rankings as on 30 September 2015.
The seven other nations—Australia, New Zealand, India, South Africa, England, Sri Lanka and Pakistan—will take part in the nation versus nation tournament at three iconic cricket venues in the UK.
Children have given special attention for watching the matches, giving them opportunity to collect tickets with the prices at just £5.
For the students the ticket prices fixed at £20 for group stage matches while £25 and £30 for semifinals and final respectively.
The other categories of the tickets are Platinum (price £80), Gold (price £50), Silver (price £40) and Bronze (price £30) for the group stage matches.
For the semifinals Platinum (price £90), Gold (price £60), Silver (price £45) and Bronze (price £35) while for the finals £100, £70, £50 and £40 respectively.
The ballot will be kept open for 30 days through the official website at www.icc-cricket.com/tickets so that fans can submit an application for as many games as they wish. The ballot closes at 20h00 (British ST) on 30 September.
ICC Chief Executive David Richardson said, “The ICC Champions Trophy is an event where the top-ranked one day sides go head to head in a format that leaves little margin for error. To ensure that cricket fans have the best possible opportunity to follow their favourite teams at three fantastic venues, we have opted to run a ballot and to keep ticket prices affordable.”
The Oval will host the opening match of the tournament on 1 June 1 as well as the final on June 18.
Cardiff Wales Stadium will host four matches, including the first semi-final on June 14, while Edgbaston will host five matches, including the India v Pakistan and Australia v England matches as well as the second semi-final.
