news desk: The government wants the country to return to its original constitution of 1972, Law Minister Anisul Huq said today (November 5, 2022).
“Bangladesh wants to return to the constitution of 1972. But it will depend on reality as well as the government and also the party’s willingness,” the minister told a seminar organised by the Bangladesh Institute of Law and International Affairs (BILIA).
“But we have to wait for more time, to remove it (the state religion) and establish religious neutrality in the country,” he said.
The event titled “Revisiting the Historical Journey of the Constitution of Bangladesh” was held at BILIA Auditorium in Dhanmondi, in celebration of the Constitution Day of Bangladesh.
