Desk news: The government on Tuesday sent three superintendents of police, posted in Bangladesh Police headquarters and the Criminal Investigation Department in Dhaka, on early retirement.

Among the three police officers, Mohammad Sohidullah Chowdhury, police cadre officer belonging to the 12th batch of the Bangladesh Civil Service, was posted as police superintendent (training reserve) at the police headquarters, police officials said.

Delwar Hossain Mia, belonging to the 12th batch and Mirza Abdullahel Baki, belonging to the 15th batch of Bangladesh Civil Service, were posted to the CID.

The police officers were sent to early retirements in separate government orders signed by senior secretary Akhter Hossain of home ministry’s Public Security Division.

The public security division of the home ministry issued gazette notifications to the effect on Tuesday as per the Public Service Act 2018, citing the public interest as the reason for sending the police officers on retirement before completion of their normal service tenure.
