Though the elections of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) are knocking at the door, there is no excitement over the issue. There is a big reason behind the lack of enthusiasm surrounding the election of the country’s wealthiest sports board that lack of new leadership.

The incumbent president Nazmul Hasan Papon would be re-elected chief of the board once again as nobody is coming to challenge him in the polls.

He had won two previous elections uncontested and sat in the hot seat. If all goes well, Nazmul Hasan Papon is going to be the BCB president again.

However, this time he is proceeding differently with the board of directors. He has already announced not arrange vote with the panel. He wants to add new directors by removing a few from the current board of directors. New leadership could come in five to six director positions.

There are 25 posts in the board of directors of BCB including president and vice-president. There is post vacant currently. Except that, there are 24 directors in the remaining 24 posts. It is certain that 19 directors including Nazmul Hasan Papon will be in the next committee. The rest of the posts are going to be changed.
