This year is the biggest budget in the history of Bangladesh

News Desk: Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal is presenting the biggest budget in the history of Bangladesh i.e. 2021-2022 fiscal year in the National Assembly. The prices of these products will go up as the budget proposes to increase tariffs on some products.

Wine-beer: 20 percent advance income tax has been imposed in the budget for the import of such products. Therefore, the price of wine and beer may increase in the future.

Cigarettes: The price level and supplementary duty on cigarettes are increased every year. Although the supplementary duty has not been increased this time, the price level of premium quality cigarettes has been increased. So the price of such cigarettes may go up.

Tiles and Sanitaryware: 15 percent VAT has been imposed on the net commission of distributors and dealers of these products. So the price of tiles and sanitaryware may go up a bit.

Theme Park Rides:  20 percent supplementary duty has been levied on rides for setting up amusement parks. So the cost of setting up a children’s recreation center may increase.

This year’s budget proposes to reduce tariffs on some products, which will reduce the price of these products.

Muri: VAT on Mudi has been exempted at the production stage. So the price of packaged wrappers can be reduced.

Fresh Fruits: VAT on fruits at commercial level has been withdrawn. So the price of fruit may go down.

Agricultural Machinery: VAT exemption for production and business level of Euder (Weeder) and Winor (Jharaikal) has been exempted in the budget. In addition, advance tax exemption has been given for import of thresher machine, power reaper, power tiller, operated cider, combine harvester, rotary tiller, weeder and weeder. As a result, the prices of these products may go down.

Microbus: Duty on import of microbus has been reduced in CCV. So the price of microbus can go down.

Hybrid car: Hybrid car supplementary duty has been reduced. So the price of fuel-friendly cars can go down.

Apart from this, local production of blender, juicer, mixer, grinder, electric kettle, rice cooker, multi cooker, pressure cooker has been exempted from VAT. This can reduce the price of these products. Washing machines, microwave ovens and electric ovens have been exempted from VAT. As a result, the prices of these products may also come down.

Speaker Dr. Presided over by Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal is presenting the budget in the parliament held at 3 pm today.

The size of this year’s budget has been proposed to be 6 lakh 3 thousand 681 crore. Of this, there is a deficit of Tk 2 lakh 14 thousand 681 crore.
