News Desk: 94% of the ICU beds of 9 hospitals in the capital for coronation were admitted yesterday. The intensive care unit (ICU) of nine government hospitals in the capital for coronation is now in a state of ‘no place’. About 94 percent of the ICU beds in these hospitals were full on Friday. As the number of corona diagnoses began to increase, so did the patient’s pressure in the normal bed. Patients were admitted in 77 percent of the normal beds.

The pressure of corona patients has also increased in the general hospitals and ICUs in the private hospitals of the capital. As the number of patients continues to grow at an alarming rate, the government has set up Sheikh Hasina Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute for corona treatment. Apart from this, the Ministry of Health has directed five more hospitals in Dhaka to make overall preparations for the admission of corona patients.

The health minister told reporters at the secretariat on Wednesday that the rate at which coronavirus infections were on the rise did not “ultimately affect” the existing health care system.

Analyzing the data of the Department of Health, it is seen that out of 108 ICU beds of 9 hospitals allotted for Corona in the capital, 101 ICU beds were admitted yesterday. No ICU beds at Bangladesh-Kuwait Maitri Government Hospital, Kurmitola General Hospital, Dhaka Medical College Hospital and Mugda Medical College Hospital were vacant yesterday. Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University, Sheikh Russell Gastroliver Hospital in Mohakhali and Government Employees Hospital had one ICU bed each. The patients were admitted in 11 of the 15 ICU beds of Rajarbagh Police Hospital.

At that time, 35 percent of the ICU beds in these hospitals were empty. Since March 10, more than 1,000 patients are being identified daily in the country. Of these, more than 3,500 patients are being identified daily for 4 days.

The Department of Health also disclosed the number of beds and patients admitted for corona in 9 private hospitals in the capital. It showed that 34 out of 35 ICU beds of Impulse Hospital had patients admitted yesterday. Of the 183 ICUs in private hospitals, 130 had patients admitted.

Analyzing the data of the Department of Health, it is seen that there are 2,401 general beds for corona patients in government hospitals in Dhaka. Of these, 1,851 (6 percent) beds were filled yesterday. But in February, 70 percent of the beds in these hospitals were empty.

Kurmitola General Hospital has 275 general beds for corona. Yesterday, 420 patients were admitted in this hospital. In other words, 145 patients were admitted in this hospital more than the capacity.

In a circular dated March 22, the health ministry has instructed five government hospitals to re-prepare as the number of corona patients continues to rise. The hospitals are Lalkuthi Hospital in Mirpur, Dhaka Metropolitan Hospital, Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital, DNCC Corona Isolation Center and Government Employees Hospital.

Incidentally, these hospitals were set up for the treatment of corona as the number of patients with corona increased last year. However, as the number of patients decreased later, other patients were introduced in these hospitals.

Meanwhile, in a separate order, the health ministry has also directed to start medical services for corona patients at Sheikh Hasina Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute.

‘June-July trend’ in infection-

On March 8 last year, the government announced the first corona in the country. From June to August — these three months the coronary infection was acute. Occasionally there was a slight increase in November-December but the rest of the time the infection was downward. Symptoms of infection last June-July for more than two weeks.

Since March 10, more than a thousand patients are being identified daily. Since then, daily detection, detection rates and deaths have been on the rise. As a result, the pressure of Covid-19 detection test is increasing in Dhaka and outside Dhaka.

According to the Department of Health, in the last 24 hours (Thursday from 6am to 6am yesterday), 3,737 new cases of corona have been identified, the highest number of cases in 268 days. More than that was identified on July 2 last year, the day 4,019 corona were identified.

So far, a total of 5 lakh 8 thousand 132 people have been diagnosed with corona infection in the country. Another 33 people have died in Corona in the last 24 hours. So far 8,830 people have died. A total of 5 lakh 31 thousand 951 people have recovered. 2,057 people have recovered in the last 24 hours.

After more than three months, on March 18, the infection detection rate in the country again dropped to 10 percent. In the last 24 hours, 27,299 samples have been tested in the country. Considering the test, the patient identification rate is 13.69 percent.
