News Desk: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said education is the most important thing to build a poverty free Bangladesh. The Prime Minister said science and technical education was most important at that time.

He was speaking at the inaugural function of distribution of stipends, tuition fees, admission assistance and medical grants among poor and meritorious students from the Prime Minister’s Education Assistance Trust through the Ministry of Education through video conference from Ganobhaban on Sunday.

At the same time, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina highlighted the various initiatives of the government for the development and expansion of education and urged the rich to come forward in this regard.

Noting that the government is committed to building educated and skilled human resources, the Prime Minister said, “We are providing education assistance to millions of students across the country through the Education Assistance Trust. We are committed to building educated and skilled human resources. In this case, the rich will also come forward. Our education assistance will help the trust fund or the educational institutions in their respective areas. In fact, it is possible to move forward with the development of the institution from which you have studied and with the help of the students there. ‘

Highlighting her government’s initiative to expand education, Sheikh Hasina said, “I formed the government in 1996 and took initiative to expand education across the country.” I started the movement to build an illiterate Bangladesh. I have also got success in that. We take steps to diversify education. I have also given importance to technology education. The Awami League government also runs the first medical university in Bangladesh.

The Prime Minister complained, “The people of this country should be educated, the BNP-Jamaat alliance did not want that.” They stopped the initiatives we took in ’96. ‘

“We have decided to open the educational institution by March 30,” he said. I am also making arrangements to vaccinate teachers and students. We are committed to building an educated and skilled human resource. ‘
