His citizenship was revoked a couple of years ago after he joined IS in Syria, citing national security concerns. Sajid Javid was then the Home Minister of Britain.

The ruling will be seen as a test of how countries treat citizens who join jihadist groups. News agencies AFP and the BBC reported.

Shamima was 15 when she moved to Syria with two school friends. He later married an IS fighter.

The 21-year-old is currently in critical condition in a Syrian camp. Her husband is believed to be in a Syrian prison and all three of their children have died.
