The National Police Air Service’s (NPAS) London branch has unveiled a gallery of stunning shots taken from officers and pilots throughout 2016.

They include bird’s-eye views of various stadia across the capital including Wembley Stadium, Twickenham and the Emirates.

Some of London’s major celebrations were also documented from the air with aerial images of Pride festival and Elton John’s Hyde Park concert.

Other captured moments include the Limehouse Basin swamped with green duckweed and a row of vehicles parked outside Buckingham Palace.

Stunning sunrise and sunsets also accompany pictures of the capital’s best known landmarks.

NPAS London senior pilot John Roberts said his favourite picture was snapped above Windsor Castle for a Queen at 90 birthday celebration in April.
