Staff Correspondent: The High Court (HC) on Thursday issued a rule asking the government to explain why seven under-trial prisoners who are in jail for more than 12 years should not be granted bail.
The HC bench of Justice M Enayetur Rahim and Justice JBM Hassan passed the order on Thursday.
The court also directed authorities concerned to produce the prisoner before the court on January 24.
The seven prisoners are- Rasel Sheikh, Saidur Rahman, Masud, Razib Hossain, Babu, Parvej and Liton.
The seven under-trial prisoners are in Kashimpur Jail for more than 12 years in separate cases filed against them.
