Police recovered five time-bombs from a sandfield of the district`s Kunia Targas area, 5 kilometer away from the Biswa Ijtema venue of Turag, early Sunday.
Police also recovered a remote controller from the scene.
Gazipur Police Super Harun-Or-Rashid told this in a press briefing at Shahid Ahsan Ullah Master Stadium after the Akheri Munajat of the Ijtema.
The police super said `acting on tip off` Joydevpur police conducted a drive at Kunia Targas area under Gazipur City Corporation. The recovered the bombs along with a remote controller around 5:00am.
Later, the bombs were deactivated, he added.
He said miscreants might have carried the bombs to carry out any sabotage in Ijtema venue. But they left these as police were very alerts.
However, nobody was arrested in this connection
