The government is likely to allow common prisoners to use mobile phones from jails of the country.
Additional Inspector General of Prisons Col Fazlul Kabir the prisoners will be allowed to call paying charges to the jail authority.
In a press conference today, he said that the prisoners will only be allowed to talk with close relatives and their family members over mobile phone and the phone calls will be recorded.
As a result, it will ease the communications between the prisoners and their relatives or family members.
The new system will lessen the misuse of mobile phones and prevent irregularities and corruptions in jails.
