Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has built a five-tier security cordon at Ijtema ground and the areas around it with the view to avoid sabotage and anarchy here.

Besides, the elite force has been coordinating with other intelligence agencies of the country so that no devotees face sufferings and chaos.

RAB Director General Benazir Ahmed came up with the assertion in a press briefing at a temporary control room at Ijtema ground on Friday morning.

Mentioning that security is a collective responsibility of every individual who are present here, he said RAB was not just providing security, but also providing free medical care to the pilgrims.

“So far 6,000 individuals have received free medical care,” he added.

“RAB is also distributing free drinking water so that nobody suffers from water shortage”, RAB DG added.

Benazir Ahmed also informed that RAB has installed 18 CCTVs, nine watch towers, nine observation posts, and two control rooms and using helicopters and speedboats.

Besides, a RAB member has been installed in plain dress in each and every khitta.
