News Desk: The government is buying 1.5 crore doses of coronavirus vaccine from the Chinese company Sinofarm. The Cabinet Committee on Procurement on Thursday approved the purchase of the vaccines.

After the meeting, Additional Secretary to the Cabinet Shahida Akhter told reporters.

Shahida Akhter said the health department would buy 1.5 crore doses of coronavirus vaccine from the Chinese company Synopharm. The vaccine will arrive in the country in June, July and August.

He said Sinofarm would provide 50 lakh doses of vaccine per month.
