News Desk: Indian doctors say that using the same mask for a long time increases the risk of coronary as well as black fungus. The big reason for this is the uncleanliness of the mask. This risk increases if you wear the same mask for 2-3 weeks without washing.

Physician P Sarat Chandra Hale, a professor in the neuroscience department at AIIMS, told the media that uncleanliness was a major cause of the fungal infection. In his words, ‘many people use the same mask without washing for more than 2-3 weeks. He also suggested changing the mask regularly or washing it thoroughly with soap to avoid the infection.

Although there is still not enough evidence behind his statement. However, Suresh Singh Naruka, a doctor at a private hospital, told PTI that an unhealthy environment may have played a role in the spread of the fungus. Wearing a mask as well as living in a non-ventilated room can also be a big reason behind black fungus infection. However, he also blamed the use of uncontrolled steroids.

He thinks many people start taking steroids on their own when they suspect a corona infection. Do not take the advice of doctors. Overuse of steroids can also be a factor in this infection.
