LEIDEN, Netherlands (AA) \u2013 A Muslim children\u2019s school in the Netherlands had its doors chained and locked by an anti-immigrant group on Sunday night, its principal told Anadolu Agency on Monday.<\/p>\n
PEGIDA claimed responsibility for the incident at the Islamic primary school in Leiden on Sunday night.<\/p>\n
Monday is the first day of the new academic term for primary schools in the Netherlands.<\/p>\n
\u201cAfter such an event, we do not feel safe,\u201d Gulsum Dogan, principal of IBS Er Riseleh School said, adding that it was the first such incident in the school\u2019s 24 years.<\/p>\n
PEGIDA, a far-right anti-Muslim and anti-immigrant movement, shared images of the stunt on its social media accounts on Monday.<\/p>\n
The school found a bicycle lock had been put on the doors of the building and a note referring to terrorist attacks in Europe. \u2018We need to tackle the problem by the roots,\u2019 it said.<\/p>\n
