An international visionary conference on economy will be held on Wednesday in the city aimed at coming up with a \u2018national action plan\u2019 on key challenges and overcome those.<\/p>\n

The day-long conference titled \u201cNew Economic Thinking: Bangladesh 2030 and Beyond\u201d will be a gathering of \u201cthoughtful and innovative doers\u201d from around the world. They would share their perceptions on practical solutions for sustainable development through global innovative efforts.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Earlier, Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) President Hossain Khaled at a press conference said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the summit at Radisson Hotel in the city.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
\u201cDCCI is organising the event to discuss futuristic strategies to<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
facilitate the advancement of untapped investment ambience in Bangladesh for sustainable development. Necessary reforms in development sector and the next phases will also be discussed,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Khaled said the conference in five sessions will focus on \u201cBangladesh\u2019s energy economy\u201d, \u201cwater and land resource management\u201d, \u201csustainability and environment impact\u201d, \u201cera of infrastructure: Bangladesh context\u201d, \u201csustainable development goals (SDGs) 2030\u201d and \u201cthe next billion dollar opportunities in Bangladesh.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe event would focus exclusively on one of the most important<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
development challenges of our time: how do we behold the future possibilities of Bangladesh vis-a-vis other regional and global economies and ways to counter the obstacles in our economic advancement,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Khaled said representatives from developed and emerging markets,<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
including ministers, entrepreneurs, economists, consultants, researchers and other innovative minds, will participate in the conference.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
\u201cThey will give thoughtful perception on changing dynamics of South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC), the European Union (EU), Association for South East Asian Nation (ASEAN), North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) and exclusively on Bangladesh future,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
