International Desk: Pakistan’s restive politics is likely in for a flare-up as Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan was arrested by Rangers personnel from Islamabad High Court (IHC) \u2014 who were acting on National Accountability Bureau\u2019s (NAB) warrant, Geo News reported Tuesday.<\/p>\n
The former chairman was arrested as part of the NAB\u2019s investigation in the Al-Qadir Trust case ahead of his appearance before the IHC to seek bail in multiple FIRs registered against him.<\/p>\n

Inspector General of Police, (IGP) Islamabad Dr Akbar Nasir Khan confirmed the development and said that the situation is under control.<\/p>\n
According to Geo News, the PTI chairman was going for biometric verification at the IHC when he was taken into custody. The NAB officials had arrest warrants.<\/p>\n
Khan\u2019s warrants were issued on May 1 by NAB chairman Lt Gen (retd) Nazir Ahmad Butt.<\/p>\n
As per details, Khan was taken into custody under Section 9A of the National Accountability Ordinance 1999.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Geo News has obtained an exclusive video of when the PTI chief was arrested. In the video, Khan can be seen sitting with sunglasses calmly and observing the developments.<\/p>\n
Rangers \u2018tortured\u2019 Imran Khan<\/p>\n
Khan\u2019s lawyer Barrister Ali Gohar told media personnel that the Rangers personnel \u201ctortured\u201d the party chairman during the arrest.<\/p>\n
\u201cImran Khan was hit on the head and his injured leg,\u201d he claimed.<\/p>\n
He added that he and Ali Bukhari were present with the PTI chief at the time of the arrest.<\/p>\n
