\u201cIt\u2019s like we woke up to hell,\u201d said Osman Can Taninmis, whose family members were still beneath the rubble in Hatay, Turkey\u2019s hardest-hit province. \u201cHelp isn\u2019t coming, can\u2019t come. We can\u2019t reach anyone at all. Everywhere is destroyed.\u201d<\/p>\n
In Syria, residents found a crying newborn still connected by the umbilical cord to her mother, who was dead.
