The big reason for this is the uncleanliness of the mask. This risk increases if you wear the same mask for 2-3 weeks without washing.<\/p>\n<p>Physician P Sarat Chandra Hale, a professor in the neuroscience department at AIIMS, told the media that uncleanliness was a major cause of the fungal infection. In his words, \u2018many people use the same mask without washing for more than 2-3 weeks. He also suggested changing the mask regularly or washing it thoroughly with soap to avoid the infection.<\/p>\n<p>Although there is still not enough evidence behind his statement. However, Suresh Singh Naruka, a doctor at a private hospital, told PTI that an unhealthy environment may have played a role in the spread of the fungus.
