Many people like to give new money during Eid Salam, Fitra or Dan. Like last year, this year too, the Korona epidemic is going on during Eid-ul-Fitr. However, Bangladesh Bank has said that new notes worth Tk 14,000 crore will be released this Eid. But Bangladesh Bank is not making arrangements to give money to the general public in special arrangements like other times.<\/p>\n<p>Bangladesh Bank is making extensive preparations to provide new money for Eid. Long queues for new money can be seen at the counters of various banks including Bangladesh Bank. As Eid approaches, long lines continue to grow at bank counters. At that time, if you went to the banks, you could see the mood of Eid. However, due to the corona virus, Bangladesh Bank has stopped this system this year. Bangladesh Bank has taken initiative to distribute new money notes through general transactions and ATM booths in banks. Commercial banks are able to collect this money from Bangladesh Bank as per their demand. Bangladesh Bank sources said that it has already distributed Tk 4,000 crore.<\/p>\n<p>Bangladesh Bank Executive Director and spokesman yesterday. Sirajul Islam said Bangladesh Bank supplies notes to the market throughout the year following the demand-supply policy. However, the demand for new notes is higher before Eid. With that in mind, new notes worth Tk 14,000 crore are being released on the occasion of Eid.<\/p>\n<p>The new notes include 10, 20, 50, 100, 200 and 500 Tk. Last year, on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, Bangladesh Bank released new notes worth around Tk 30,000 crore.
