Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale are both set to return to the Real Madrid lineup for Wednesday\u2019s home clash with Villarreal.<\/span><\/p>\n

Both galacticos missed Sunday evening\u2019s 2-0 win at Espanyol, with Ronaldo suffering from the flu and Bale having taken a knock to his hip during the previous Wednesday\u2019s 2-1 Champions League win at home to Sporting Lisbon.<\/p>\n

However the pair have returned to full training and are set to feature as the Liga leaders look to continue their 100 percent start to the season ahead of an also unbeaten Villarreal side at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.<\/p>\n

Los Blancos coach Zidane told a news conference after training on Tuesday that both Ronaldo and Bale had come through the session well and had recovered completely.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey are both good,\u201d Zidane said. \u201cThey trained normally and were fine, 100 percent. Both of them.\u201d<\/p>\n

With Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone this week pushing the candidacy of his attacker Antoine Griezmann for the Ballon d\u2019Or, Zidane said his fellow Frenchman was a top player, however Ronaldo should win the prize again for his \u201cexceptional year\u201d in 2016.<\/p>\n

\u201cGriezmann has been playing really well for a while now, and deserves to be among the first names,\u201d he said. \u201cHe does not need my support. But I would vote for Cristiano, not because he is my player but because he does spectacular things that few people can do.<\/p>\n

Holding midfielder Casemiro is set to miss out against Villarreal having limped off against Espanyol at the weekend, while centre-back Pepe also has a knock and could be covered by Nacho.<\/p>\n

\u201cPepe has an issue from the game against Espanyol and the situation remains the same,\u201d he said. \u201cHe will rest as we have a game on Saturday and our idea is that our four centre-backs play games. Nacho can also play at full-back, we could use him tomorrow.\u201d<\/p>\n

Another victory against Villarreal would be Madrid\u2019s 17th consecutive in La Liga, and break an all-time record set by Pep Guardiola\u2019s Barcelona in 2010-11.<\/p>\n

Even still, some pundits have suggested that Zidane\u2019s side are \u201cmore effective than brilliant,\u201d and the French coach accepted that it was always difficult to impress everyone around the Bernabeu.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou can always improve as a player, as a coach even more,\u201d he said. \u201cBut we are doing pretty well. There is criticism, well, that\u2019s normal. A player or coach at this club knows the demands will always be higher than anywhere else.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen you sign here you know that. There will be difficult moments, but we just focus on doing our work day to day. We will try and improve our play, for example to keep more clean sheets.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s our aim for tomorrow, for all the team: to play well, and keep a clean sheet.\u201d<\/p>\n

Asked about Neymar\u2019s alleged showboating against Leganes last weekend, the media theme of the week in Spain, the former Ballon d\u2019Or winning player said he did not believe the Brazilian had set out to deliberately provoke his opponents.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am not in Neymar\u2019s head,\u201d Zidane said. \u201cI don\u2019t believe he was looking to provoke anyone, although you would have to ask him.<\/p>\n
