Haqiqul Islam Khokon, Senior Correspondent:<\/strong>\u00a0The Bangladesh Embassy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia has celebrated the great Independence and National Day through various programs. On this occasion, the ambassador hoisted the national flag at the embassy premises in the morning. Mohammad Jabed Patwari BPM (Bar). The Ambassador then paid homage with flowers at the temporary memorial of the embassy. Embassy officials were present at the time. A virtual discussion program was organized by the embassy on the occasion of the golden jubilee of the great Independence Day. During the day, speeches by the President, Prime Minister, Foreign Minister and Minister of State for Foreign Affairs were read and video messages of the Prime Minister were displayed. Immigrants living in different parts of Saudi Arabia attended the virtual discussion. During the discussion, the Ambassador paid deep tribute to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the greatest father of the Bengali nation of all time, under whose unforgettable leadership we have got an independent state called Bangladesh. The Ambassador paid homage to the four national leaders and the 30 Lakh martyrs killed in the great war of liberation and the 2 Lakh mothers and sisters who lost their dignity.<\/p>\n

Ambassador Mohammad Jabed Patwari said Bangabandhu has always stood against the rule and exploitation of the Pakistani state. The Father of the Nation declared independence in the early hours of March 26 when the Pakistani aggressors started massacring innocent Bengalis on the night of March 25. At the call of Bangabandhu\u2019s independence, the people of Bengal jumped into the war of liberation. Our great freedom was achieved in return for a long and bloody war of liberation for nine months. Bangabandhu dreamed of a happy, prosperous golden Bengal. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is working relentlessly to realize her dream. Today, under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Bangladesh is moving forward on the highway of development through the implementation of various mega projects including the dream Padma Bridge, Metro Rail, Nuclear Power Plant.<\/p>\n

Following this, on 26 February 2021, Bangladesh received the final approval of the United Nations to move from the list of least developed countries to Qatar as a developing country. This is a great achievement for us as a nation on the golden jubilee of independence. The Prime Minister has taken the vision of making Bangladesh a high income country in 2041 and is working relentlessly to achieve it.<\/p>\n

The Ambassador said that various celebrations of the Golden Jubilee of Independence and the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman are being celebrated and will continue in compliance with the ongoing ban on corona virus in Saudi Arabia. On the golden jubilee of independence, he called upon the expatriates to participate in the development of the country from their respective positions.<\/p>\n

Embassy head said. In the presentation of Farid Uddin Ahmed, the expatriate Bangladeshis gave speeches highlighting the significance of the great Independence and National Day. At the end of the program, special prayers were offered for the progress of the nation, father of the nation, martyred members of his family, all martyrs of the liberation war and the country.<\/p>\n
