Rasnabilase so what if the end is not sweet? Whether it is made at home or made by Moira. There are different types of Bengali sweets. Its taste and method of preparation are also different in different places. These sweets not only bring water to the pocket, but its creation is a unique work of art.

Due to the green nature of Bangladesh, there has never been a shortage of food for cattle. The cow’s milk did not increase as there were always cows in the barn. Moirara has also made various types of sweets with happiness in mind. Has done various types of audits. The taste of the new term has captivated the world. All the Bahari sweets found in different parts of Bangladesh are unique in name, taste and shape.

One such sweet is the sweet pillow of Netrokona. It is not only a sweet, but also a long history and tradition. Its inventor is Shri Gayanath Ghosh. He was born on February 2, 1885. This haluikar used to run a confectionery store on Barhatta Road in Netrokona district town. The name of his shop was Gayanath Confectionery. He decides to do something out of the ordinary. The result is the invention of a new sweet. Different in shape than ordinary sweets. Even in taste.

It didn’t take long for two things to attract sweet people. Rather it became popular overnight. It is called pillow sweet because it looks a lot like a pillow. Many people say that Gayanath’s pillow is sweet. Not only Netrokona or Greater Mymensingh, but also pillow sweets have a reputation across the country. However, it is not known today in which year he made this sweet.

Sadly, Gayanath Ghosh of the eighties emigrated with his family in 1969. Move to India. Then he did not return. It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post.

However, he left his invention in his own country. Because, he taught the secret technique of making this sweet to his main artisan Nikhilchandra Modak. However, his company was then bought by Kumud Chandra Nag. However, just six years later, Kumud Chandra Nag sold the sweet shop to Nikhil Chandra Modak, a leading pillow confectioner. After that there was no change of hands.

On the contrary, this institution has been with Nikhilchandra’s family since 1975. However, there has been a generational change. After Nikhilchandra’s death, his three sons Babul, Dilip and Khokon Modak have been running the centenary with integrity and loyalty. Similarly, the tradition of pillow sweets has remained intact. Speaking to them, it is learned that Gayanath’s sons are no longer alive in India. There is no other way to collect information.

Ratan Pal is currently the main artisan of this dessert. He has four or five other artisans as his assistants. Talking to Ratan Pal, it has been learned that a small amount of flour is made by mixing a small amount of flour with high quality lamb made from pure cow’s milk. The pulp is sweetened in the shape of a pillow of different sizes and shapes and is soaked overnight in boiling hot sugar juice with great care and awareness. Then at night Pohale Rose Taitambur and Tultule are sold on this sweet with milk or thick Malay paste.

These sweets currently come in a total of five shapes. Each weighing 1 kg 400 g costs 500 Tk, Each weighing 1 kg costs 300 Tk, Each weighing 700 grams costs 200 Tk, Each weighing 500 grams costs 100 Tk and Each of the 250 grams costs 50 Tk. Priced at Rs 300, the sweet is about 12 inches in length and takes 450 grams to make.

Due to its popularity and acceptance, two more branches of the original company have been set up in the same city at Station Road and Chhota Bazar. Sweets are made on the second floor of the original institution and supplied to the two branches. In imitation of this sweet, other sweet shops in the region also make pillow sweets on par with each other, but the original taste is a match. Although some secrecy of the whole recipe is maintained in the interest of business, the sincere efforts, skill and skill of the artisans and the skill and culinary style of balancing the amount of ingredients are also particularly noteworthy.

In many places besides the surrounding area, this sweet has become a kind of tradition when it comes to weddings, weddings, birthdays, milads, wedding anniversaries or at the homes of relatives. Even tourists from far and wide often flock to this sweet place.

As the Netrokona district town borders India, the people of this country also take this sweet to their relatives in India. Therefore, keeping in view the huge demand, popularity and long tradition of this sweet, the institution authorities are planning to expand its branches in other cities as well. Even wanting to supply outside the country.

News Desk: March 26, Bangladesh Independence Day.
