{"id":2418,"date":"2016-09-06T15:58:53","date_gmt":"2016-09-06T15:58:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.banglanewsus.com\/english\/?p=2418"},"modified":"2016-09-06T15:58:53","modified_gmt":"2016-09-06T15:58:53","slug":"indian-railways-working-on-link-to-bhutan-nepal-bangladesh","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.banglanewsus.com\/english\/2016\/09\/06\/indian-railways-working-on-link-to-bhutan-nepal-bangladesh\/","title":{"rendered":"Indian Railways working on link to Bhutan, Nepal, Bangladesh"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Indian Railways is set to soon resume its move to provide a railway link to Bhutan and studies have already been conducted, according to Minister of State for Railways Rajen Gohain.<span id=\"more-299864\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe construction organisation of Northeast Frontier Railway has already undertaken many survey works for providing rail connectivity to countries such as Nepal, Bhutan and Bangladesh,\u201d Gohain said.<\/p>\n<p>The railway links between India and Bhutan, for which studies were carried out by RITES in 2008, include Kokrajhar-Gelephu, Rangiya-Samdrupjonkhar, Banarhat-Samtse, and Pathsala-Nanglam. Gohain said Indian Railways\u2019 priority is to try and double the existing railway link in Assam over the next three years.<\/p>\n<p>About the railway link to Bangladesh, Gohain said, \u201cOnce completed, the Agartala-Akhaura international rail link project will boost socio-economic development of not only Tripura but the entire Northeastern region.
