At the age of thirty-three, he became the youngest headmaster in the United Kingdom.

Tahmina said about her daily routine, my alarm rang very early in the morning. I get out of bed at 5:30. I look at my e-mails as I eat breakfast. Then I drove to school in 20 minutes. My day schedule has changed since the lockdown.

Most students are now at home. But I still like going to school every day. I get benefits from routine, I get benefits because home and work are different. Under normal circumstances I would greet students on the playground, when they start coming to school. I look forward to that time.

“I have always wanted to be a teacher,” said the youngest head teacher in the UK. School is a lot of fun for me. I was involved in the debate and the press team. The press team is a full-fledged and good group of friends. My family has always believed that education is a great profession. I grew up with a strong work ethic. To me being a teacher is like a normal step. Because my elder brother and elder sister are also teachers.

Tahmina said that she started her career as an English teacher after studying psychology at the university. “I studied psychology at the university,” she said. Growing up in the Tower Hamlets area of East London. I started working as an academic tutor at Sir John Cass Secondary School (now Stepney All Saints School).I am able to serve a community that is very close to my heart. The children were excellent, the teachers were also talented. So I am also interested in becoming a teacher. There is no decision to take training. Shyam Uddin was my first mentor, biggest supporter and friend at Sir John Cass School.

Shyam later joined Forest Gate School as the head of English. I took charge as the second English teacher there. Sadly, Shyam died in 2016. The responsibility fell on me. During his illness I served as Assistant Headmaster in charge of English. In 2016, I was appointed Deputy Head in-charge of Teaching and Learning. He said that he got the responsibility of the head teacher in 2019.

He still takes one class a week. “I love doing it,” said Tahmina, who is of Bangladeshi descent. The teacher-student relationship is inseparable no matter what profession I am in. 2021 has started with a challenge. Because of Corona I can’t say good morning to the school kids, I can’t even talk to them in the corridor. He said he was still trying to run the school in the best way possible.

News desk: Tahmina Begum. Muslim women of Bangladeshi descent.
