Turkey on Sunday expressed its sorrow at the execution of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami central executive committee member Mir Quasem Ali.<\/p>\n
In a press release issued by the Turkish foreign ministry, it said \u201cthe past wounds cannot be healed with these methods\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have learned with sorrow that the death sentence issued by the International Crimes Tribunal, Bangladesh against Mir Quasem Ali has been executed in Bangladesh,\u201d read the press release.<\/p>\n
It further said, \u201cWe stress once again that the wounds of the past cannot be healed with these methods and hope that this wrong practice will not lead to separation among the brotherly people of Bangladesh.\u201d<\/p>\n
The country had also condemned the execution of Jamaat chief Matiur Rahman Nizami and withdrawn its ambassador from Dhaka. Pakistan, too, expressed its sadness over the Quasem execution, saying Quasem was executed for the \u201calleged crimes committed before December 1971\u201d and termed the trial as a \u201cflawed judicial process\u201d.<\/p>\n
