{"id":18526,"date":"2019-05-29T18:51:26","date_gmt":"2019-05-29T18:51:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.banglanewsus.com\/english\/?p=18526"},"modified":"2019-05-29T18:51:26","modified_gmt":"2019-05-29T18:51:26","slug":"england-launch-world-cup-bid-against-south-africa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.banglanewsus.com\/english\/2019\/05\/29\/england-launch-world-cup-bid-against-south-africa\/","title":{"rendered":"England launch World Cup bid against South Africa"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>England will put four years of planning to the test when they face South Africa in the opening match of the 2019 World Cup at the Oval on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>So embarrassing was England\u2019s first-round exit at the 2015 edition in Australia and New Zealand it prompted a major rethink of their attitude to the white-ball game, reports AFP.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The transformation has been remarkable, with Eoin Morgan\u2019s men climbing to the top of the one-day international rankings and twice setting a new record for the highest one-day international total, which now stands at 481 for six.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Batting has been the basis of England\u2019s ODI rejuvenation, with Jason Roy, Jonny Bairstow, Joe Root, Morgan and the dynamic Jos Buttler among a top seven who can all change the course of an innings in the blink of an eye.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s an exciting feeling being in this team as you have world-class players all around you and the opposition might get 370, but there\u2019s a belief in the dressing room we can chase it down,\u201d said England leg-spinner Adil Rashid.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is no hesitation or someone going \u2018I don\u2019t know about this\u2019.
