China, a longtime friend, has finally extended a hand of friendship. Following this, the inactivated vaccine ‘BBIBP-CIORV’ manufactured by Chinese Synopharm is coming to the country as a gift soon. Initially 5 lakh 2 thousand 4 hundred doses are coming to the country.

These will arrive in the country any day from Beijing airport if suitable flights are arranged. The Public Health Emergency Committee of the Department of Drug Administration has verified all the documents of the vaccine. Considering the overall aspect, the committee has recommended to allow the emergency use of the ticker.

After coming to Bangladesh, this vaccine will be administered to 1000 people first and they will be monitored. Synoform vaccines will be used later in mass immunization activities. Last Thursday, April 29, the Ministry of Finance’s Economic Relations Department (ERD) Joint Secretary and Branch Head. An official of the Chinese embassy in Bangladesh said this in a letter to Shahriar Quader Siddiqui.

The letter said Beijing airport would be used for vaccinations to be sent to Bangladesh. Vaccines will be sent by special plane. However, it has not yet been possible to arrange a proper flight. So the exact date is not going to be announced. However, the country will confirm the date of the flight very soon.

A senior health ministry official, who did not want to be named, also acknowledged the matter, saying everything had been finalized since the letter was circulated. The vaccine will come to the country at any time as soon as the flight is arranged.

Health Minister Jahed Malik said, “We are getting 5 lakh vaccines as a gift from China at any time.” He also mentioned that the vaccine may come this week.
