Raihan murder: Three more cops suspended

Three more police officers have temporarily been suspended over the incident of Raihan Ahmed murder after torturing inside Bandar police outpost in Sylhet Metropolitan Police (SMP).

BM Ashraf Ullah Taher, Additional Deputy Commissioner (media) of Sylhet Metropolitan Police (SMP), confirmed the matter on Wednesday (November 25) evening.

The suspended officers are Inspector (Investigation) of Soumen Mitra, Sub-Inspector (SI) Abdul Baten and Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Kutub Ali of Kotwali Model Police Station.

SI Abdul Baten was the Investigation Officer (IO) of the much-talked case before handing it over to Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI).

The incident took place inside Bandar Bazar police outpos on early of October 11. On the night of the day, deceased’s wife Tahmina Akter filed a case against unknown accused. Then, four police officers were immediately suspended temporarily while three were withdrawn.
