Sheikh Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the long-serving Prime Minister of Bahrain, has passed away. He was 84.
Quoting state media international news agency Al-Jazeera confirmed the matter.
He breathed his last at Mayo Clinic Hospital in the United States of America (USA) on Wednesday morning (local time), BNA reports.
Meanwhile, Bahrain’s King Sheikh Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa came up with an official announcement of mourning for a week during which flags will be flown at half-mast, according to BNA.
The burial ceremony will take place upon the repatriation of his body and the funeral will be limited to a specific number of relatives, it said.
