Special flight for stranded Saudi returnees begins today

A section of the stranded Saudi Arabia returnees in Bangladesh is set to leave Dhaka by a special flight on Saturday (Sept 26) afternoon.

The special flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines will leave Dhaka for Saudi Arabia at 5:30pm, carrying the passengers having return tickets confirmed on March 16 and 17.

Confirming the matter on Friday night, Biman Bangladesh Airlines Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Md Mokabbir Hossain said, “Special flights are being operated for those Saudi expatriates who came to Bangladesh before the outbreak of coronavirus pandemic and later got stranded in the country due to flight suspension. Those who cannot fly for Saudi Arabia during the pandemic are now able to return to the country. Today, a special flight carrying the Saudi returnees is scheduled to leave Dhaka.”

Besides, the second, third and fourth flights will be operated on Dhaka- Riyadh route on September 27, 29 and 30 respectively, he said.
